DIRECTORATE GENERAL


As established by the Royal Decree 1136/2002 of 31October (spanish), that approves the Statute of CEDEX, its governing bodies are:

  • Collegiate bodies: the Council and the Directive Committee
  • Individual bodies: the President and the Director General

The Director General is member of the Council and presides the Directive Committee. The various centres and laboratories that form CEDEX depend on him, that is assisted in the practice of his functions by the Subdirector General of Technical and Scientific Programming, with the support of a Central Technical Office.

FUNCTIONS OF THE DIRECTOR GENERAL

  • To held the legal representation of the Organisation, on behalf of the President, and to be its contract body.
  • To raise to the President, for his approval, the proposal of the CEDEX planning.
  • To propose to the President, for his approval, the necessary measures for a better management of the Organisation, in the scope of the former.
  • To observe and make to comply the orders of the President
  • To inform to the Council on the collaboration agreements arranged by CEDEX in the international ambit.
  • To inform the Council on the technical and economic results reached by the Organisation in the development of its activities, as well as on any other subject that he may consider convenient.
  • To preside the Directive Committee.
  • To direct and coordinate the development of the CEDEX planning.
  • To promote and supervise the activities that form part of the ordinary management of the Organisation.
  • To ensure the good functioning of the different units of CEDEX and the personnel integrated in them.
  • To organise the work, setting in order the necessary material and personnel means for the execution of the Organisation activities.
  • To elaborate the preliminary scheme of the CEDEX annual budget and to direct its execution.
  • To authorise the drawing up and to approve the sets of specifications for the contract of works, management of services, supplies, consulting and technical assistance.
  • To dispose the expenditure of the services within the authorised credit limits and to order their payment.
  • To exercise all those functions of direction, management and control not attributable to the rest of the CEDEX governing bodies.
