CEDEX accumulates an experience of several decades in this action, directed at first to the Latin American countries. The new worldwide context and the full integration of Spain in the European Union have imposed a new layout in the foreign action of the Organization, that appears in very diverse ways:

• The studies of technical assistance and cooperation, made in collaboration with homologous institutions of other countries (spanish) object of the work, continue being one of the main activities through which the Spanish civil engineering is applied and disseminated.
• The increase of the technical cooperation in the sphere of research in the European Union has implied a growth of the European R&D projects (spanish), made in collaboration with other European institutions.
• A notable action of technology transfer in training has been carried out in Madrid and in several Latin American countries for many years, including Masters, Courses, Workshops and Other Activities.
• The Oganization takes active part with a growing intensity in the research networks of technology transfer (IRRD, Panamerican Institute of Roads, NICHWARE, SEMIDE, etc).
• In the field of documental historic research on public works and urbanism, itinerant exhibitions are organized in different countries, besides other exhibitions, also abroad, to present the activities of the Organization.
• A substantial part of the international collaboration in R&D or works of other nature arises from previous relations, with universities or other research institutions, that materialize in frame agreements (spanish).
• The membership and active presence in committees, associations and working groups (spanish) of international character is an aspect of the foreign action that makes possible to exchange experiences and to begin relations for later specific works.
